40% Dent!

With our "Grand Opening" set for September 20th, we launched our "Love the missing" Campaign to raise 10K for the event! It has been absolutely amazing to see how God has moved on our hearts in just 3 weeks. Already $4K has been given to our campaign. A 40% dent has been made so far! God is moving, inspiring and getting us ready to "Love the Missing" in Louisburg and the surrounding communities.

When I was growing up I would be in church and occasionally a traveling minister would come in and as he was speaking, he would feel lead to ask for 10 people to give a thousand dollars, because he believed God was speaking to him to raise that amount of money for a need the church had. I don't doubt that to be the case, but I always thought if God was speaking for the church to do something shouldn't the minister lead the way? Well fast forward to today and the opportunity set before us, knowing what we need to do to create a "buzz", to attract the seeker, the lost, and the unfilled we need to do something creative and create the "purple cow" effect! As I was praying and thinking about the kind of resources we need. I knew in my heart that Pastor Susana and I as the lead pastor's should lead the way in pledging to give the first 1K! This is the first time we have communicated this decision in such a way, but because of my past experience, and what thought went through my mind, I felt that this is what God would have us to do to set the stage. Interestingly enough, after we made our commitment to the "Love the Missing Campaign" and my experience of traveling ministers of the past. We had Daniel Eric Groves come in and minister to us as a church. To be brief he felt the Lord put it on his heart to give $1K towards our Grand Opening! (Listen to him explain how God spoke to him @ http://www.mynlfc.org/Media.html) WOW! Amazing how my past experience of skepticism was altered in just a week! Only God. Isn't it funny how God works! Then on that Monday I received a phone call from another person that wants to join in by giving a $1K as well. Now I'm pumped and thrilled for what God has inspired by his spirit to do. This Sunday I was ready to share again what God has been doing in his people and right before service another person put in my hand...You guessed it another $1K check! Wow....I'm utterly amazed, on what God has been doing! He gets all the glory, honor, and praise for what he is doing at New Life! It reminds me of how in the OT, David wanted to build the temple of God and He and others brought in so much resources it was too much to count literally in the billions. Other places in scripture we see the time when they would bring offerings to the Apostles feet in the NT, or when Jesus was standing at the offering box, when the well to-do and the widow gave her mite. So whether you can give little or big know that we have an opportunity set before us by God for a chance to "Love the Missing" invite them in and share the Love of God in an authentic and real way! We are writing new stories that we will tell now and in all of eternity of how God used us as a church and you at whatever level you are to do a tremendous thing for God! Literally change all of eternity. We are almost half way there...We have a 40% dent already in 3 weeks in reaching our goal of 10K.
Do you "Love the Missing"?
What would God want you to do?
